I thought of Anne because it's just on our list of names in general...but when I say them together they don't really seem to flow. Getting my tongue a round the "a" sound of Esme and the "A" sound of Anne, even though it's a slightly different sound feels uncomfortable.
Origin:French or Persian Meaning:"esteemed, beloved; or emerald"Sophisticated, distinctive, and charming J. D. Salinger name, a current favorite among celebs, including SamanthaMorton, Anthony Edwards, andMichael J. Fox. May take an accent on the second e to ensure pronunciation of ez-may. I personally Like Esme Olive

I know what you mean. How about Esme Rose or Esme Sophia?
ETA: I saw that Noelle is on your list. I like Esme Noelle.
Ooo Rose is pretty. I also like Noelle although hadn't thought of pairing it with Esme.
Our last name ends in an "uh" sound...so we're avoiding names that have an "uh" ending like Sophia although it does flow nicely.
I still have Valentina on my list because I just think it's pretty. :-(
