Baby Names

A middle name to go with Esme?

I really like the name Esme but am completely stuck on middle name ideas to go with it.

I like traditional/old-fashioned names rather than trendy names.

Our last name is two syllables and starts with T.

Re: A middle name to go with Esme?

  • The Twilight character is Esme Anne.  Definitely old fashioned/traditional.

  • I've not seen twilight.

I thought of Anne because it's just on our list of names in general...but when I say them together they don't really seem to flow. Getting my tongue a round the "a" sound of Esme and the "A" sound of Anne, even though it's a slightly different sound feels uncomfortable.

  • I know what you mean.  How about Esme Rose or Esme Sophia?

ETA:  I saw that Noelle is on your list.  I like Esme Noelle.

  • Ooo Rose is pretty. I also like Noelle although hadn't thought of pairing it with Esme.

Our last name ends in an "uh" sound...so we're avoiding names that have an "uh" ending like Sophia although it does flow nicely.

I still have Valentina on my list because I just think it's pretty. :-(
