I've always thought that Harper was a great name. I'm a nerd, I love "To Kill A Mockingbird", by Harper Lee.
This is why I like it too!
Anyway, OP - Harper is good, the rest are NMS (especially Larkin...the only place I've heard that name was in the movie Con Air - it was a guy's surname...and wow, I just realized I must have watched that movie way too many times to remember that )
Harper is our #1 choice as of right now. For what its worth, I think it depends on the area you live in as to whether it is popular or not. I see it a ton on here because I think people see it and like it and add it to their list. None of my friends have heard of it, nor do I know anyone by that name or choosing that name IRL.
Arden and Harper are nms. However, I love Maren! That and Marah consistently top my girls list. I don't know which I like more. The only time I've heard Larkin is as a character in the musical "Once Upon a Mattress." It's okay.
Right now the girl's names that keep coming up over and over for us are:
Maren--is it like Karen but with an M? Or like Marr-en?
Arden-I like this one a lot.
Larkin-I like Laken, but Larkin sounds kinda harsh to me.
Harper-this is a really cute name.
Your thoughts?
I appreciate your original, not-so-common names. I think it's so boring to name your child like everyone else...but I was never the kid who had to go by their name and last initial in school. I think Arden is my fav, then Harper. Good luck!
(Since this is a message board, I promise that honesty won't hurt my feelings!)
Larkin actually came up on Nymbler when I put in some of the other names we liked. DH has kind of latched onto it. We've discussed that just Lark might be better.
DH actually really wants Parker for a little girl but that might be too boyish so these were some of the compromise names.
Re: Girl names--Your thoughts??
Maren - Yes
Arden - Yes
Larkin - No
Harper - Yes (it has become pretty popular recently, if that bothers you)
I like them all for the most part, they are unique without being too weird...

Love Maren!
Arden is different, but it grows on me
Larkin I just can't wrap my head around
Harper is very cute, but I can't picture an older woman with this name
Arden- Okay
Larkin- Not sure if I like it or not...it is definitely interesting, but a little strange. lol
Harper- Definitely not! This is becoming way too popular...there will probably be at least three Harpers in our kids' 1st grade class.
Maren- I think people would say it wrong all the time
Arden- there is an overweight man in my office w/ that name.....makes me think of that yuck
Larkin-I like just Lark
Harper- cute
I love Maren--love love love it!
The others are ok.

I also like Arden and Larkin!
I have niece named Marin, and I think it's a beautiful name.
The rest are okay, but Larkin sounds very masculine, like Barry Larkin.
Same, exactly
Thanks for all the input!!!
