Ingredients:
2 C Sugar. 4 C flour, 1/2 C butter, 2 C cold water, 1 C molasses, 1 T baking soda
Directions:
1. Mix sugar, flour, and butter thoroughly until crumbly.
2. Reserve 1C crumb mixture for topping off cake (to be added before cake goes in oven)
3. In a seperate bowl, mix water, molasses and baking soda until dissolved.
4. Combine crumb mixture with molasses mixture. STIR, do not beat!
5. Grease and flour pan.
6. Pour cake batter into pan.
7. Sprinkle the reserved cup of crumbs evenly on top of the cake.
8. Bake at 350 for an hour.
