Some Muslim students I've had are: (all female): Avan (pron. Yvonne), Heve (pron. Eve-ee), Anisa (Uh-nees-uh), Khadijah, Aisha, Mariya (Mar-ee-uh), Amira,
Just checked out some of the names though. Be careful though. What I saw among them were even some Persian names which aren't really muslim names. (not in my opinion)
These names are probably Arab as much as they are Muslim, but when I lived in Egypt, some popular girls/women's names were Aisha and Leila. I've always liked Leila.

I really love the sound of Amir, no matter what the nationality!
ETA: Oops, I missed that you were looking for girls names. I work with an Aisha and a Khatera and sadly they are the only two Muslims I know. But the religion has Judaic roots...could you also consider Torah names? Here's a list I found:
Just looking at that, I don't think anyone would blink at names like Dinah, Mirriam, or Tamar. Sarah and Rachel have been popular American names for ages.
Re: Help with a Muslim name
I actually don't think there are any muslim names that sound canadian/american!
For a boy though, you can use Daniel and Benyamin. Benyamin being the equivalent of Benjamin.
Aisha and Aliyah are girls' names that could be used.
Special K, omid is actually a persian/iranian name and not really a Muslim name. Muslim names are all arabic.
Here's a website I just found using google. Hope it helps!

I've heard Aisha and Aliya (sp?) used a lot.
ETA: And Rania, which I think is an absolutely gorgeous name.
(Do those names qualify? I'm not really sure which names are Arabic and which aren't.)
I was pretty sure that Ethan is a Hebrew name, actually.
I love the name Zaynab and all of its various spellings.
