Infertility

My A$$ is killing me

I think I hit a nerve last night when I gave myself my PIO shot.  When I pulled back I had blood in the syringe so I pulled it out and as I proceeded to change the needles to start over I saw that blood was squirting all over my leg, the floor, and bathroom counter.  It took a while for the bleeding to stop but was able to get it under control and finish the injection.  It hurt right away and hasn't stopped hurting since.  Now today I have a huge welt and it hurts to the touch.  So when I have to sit up straight to avoid my hips touching my chair.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: My A$$ is killing me

  • OH NO! It sounds like you definitely hit a vein. I had that happen with one of my Lupron Depot injections and it was awful. It hurt for weeks!!! I'm really sorry that happened. :(
I hate the Endometrin, but I'll take it anyday over the PIO.

  • Oh no.......i'm only on day 2 of PIO and it hasnt happened to me, but i am paranoid about it now.  Hope it feels better soon!
  • Ouch... I am sorry.

I had this happen.  When the needle went in, my leg actually collapsed under me.... and it would not stop bleeding.

I was pretty sore for awhile.

    :(

  • I hope you don't mind me replying, but yes this happened to me before.  My husband hit a vein or something and as soon as he pulled the syringe out, there was tons of blood.  It was all over my jeans, the floor, etc.  It was red and tender for about a week or so, then it started going away.  I just avoided doing shots on that side for about a week.

I hope it starts to feel better soon!  -hugs-
