WOW, we only had 30 people at our wedding lol. I'm all for being nice on these boards, but I definitely think she asked for and deserved the responses she got.
170 people? Holy crap I still can't get over that. lol.

Wow is an understatement!! I can't believe she's unhappy about the $$ amount of her gifts - not to mention 170!!
I'm hightly doubtful that we'll even have a shower, and since DH is the only one working right now I'd be happy to receive a wash cloth as a gift. Some people don't know what it is to really want.

Good morning ladies!
This is my first child so there's alot I'm not sure about and I need some opinions, so here goes: my shower is this weekend and I was just checking my registry. first, let me say I have a pretty big family and so does my fiancee, so we decided to do it co-ed. We have, confirmed, about 170 people. Well, I know it's early but I noticed when I checked my registry that the majority of the things purchased have been the small gifts (blankets, bottles, etc.) I'm a little upset. Yes, my famliy and his are giving us the big things (crib, rocking chair and changing table, stroller) but the other things we really need (playpen, car seat, baby bags, so on..) like the things that arent THAT pricey are still on the list. Again, I know it's early, but I'm begining to feel like people are being super cheap. His brother is also having a kid (3 or so weeks after my due date) so I'm thinking maybe thats why. Honestly, I'm feeling like this shower is a waste of money and people are showing up for the free food and drinks. I'm all for parties, but this is a SHOWER, the whole point is to shower the baby with presents and I'm getting the feeling no one gives a crap.
Maybe I'm being a brat, maybe it's my hormones, I don't know but this is really beginning to upset me. Those of you that had your shower/child already, did this happen?
Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for the responses!

I'm thinking maybe troll or MUD? Only, why would said troll or mudslinger DD...? That's pretty ridiculous and I usually a defender of shower people. I definitely think showers are all about gifts and showing love for the mommy to be and baby on the way. I also think that it's thoughtful and considerate to buy from people's registries. But complaining that the big ticket items haven't been purchased when many items have been purchased and you have 170 people coming? Wouldn't she feel like an a$$ if all the giftcards she is bound to get more than total enough to buy that stuff? One thing she may learn the hard way, everything you need that you don't get, you will find a way to get for yourself. LOL
Re: Third tri shower post
I think she set herself up for that. She did ask if she was being a brat and she got answers to that question.
I feel no sympathy for anyone who complains about not getting expensive enough gifts. 170 people at her shower? Holy crap!

Wow.....wish I could see some of the replies. The sense of entitlement just drives me crazy...I hope my daughter doesn't grow up like that!
Jen - I agree...I love our safe little board. If I ever posted anything like that, I sure hope you'd all set me straight!
I have 2 pages saved, but I just can't post them.
