I had bad SE from Lupron so when I bumped my dose down to only 5 units and added in the Follistim and Menopur I actually felt better. I am a poor responder so never had much of the "heavy/ painful ovaries" that many people get with IVF. Overall, I felt pretty good.
Aside from the usual bloating, some ovary twinges before trigger nothing too terrible(I have taken both menopur and follistim).
The menopur does have a tendency to burn a little when injected but I found that keeping it at room temperature and injecting slowly really cuts down on the sting. Also it goes away as soon as the injection is finished. Overall though, like pp I felt better on these meds then on clomid.
Bloating, sore ovaries, headaches, and I had really bad muscle aches...back, thighs, abdomen. Ugh. I was also really exhausted. Once they lowered my dosages it slowly got better. Good luck.

I too felt much better after my Lupron dose went down to 5 units from 20. I am currently stimming on Menopur and Follistim and find that both burn when being injected, Follistim burns a bit more too in my opinion. I find it helps to pinch the skin tight with both of my hands for a few minutes before the injection, DH injects me. He also has a warm cloth ready which helps with the sting after injection. Rubbing the area for a bit afterwards helps too, I guess it helps distribute the injection The biggest SE I have had so far is exhaustion and my ovaries feel tingly sometimes but I am only on Day 4.
