Today was my 3rd rescheduled appointment with the RE. One hour before the appointment, I got a call stating that "Dr. W won't be in today. I'm going to need to reschedule you." I felt like saying, "Call Dr. W and tell her she'd better meet me at the office at our scheduled time." -- I've asked each time if the situation was an emergency, and the receptionist said it was only a "scheduling error". Seriously?
I was last seen at the end of May and my next appointment was the middle of June (giving myself and DH time to talk about what we were ready to pursue). This appointment that keeps getting "rescheduled" is to decide about IUI or IVF and get the ball rolling with whatever I need to do before that happens. So, of course, I've been in limbo for the last 2 months and I'm going to lose my mind if I don't get some answers from this lady. She knows that my DH is up for recall to Afghanistan, and we want to get this moving.
My question is.....when is it time to find a new doctor?
Re: What is "Enough"?
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
Now is the time! Even if the RE is a star medically, an incompetent office staff can make testing and procedures unnecessarily stressful. My DH is heading out again soon too, so I totally understand wanting to get the ball rolling. Your RE's office should understand that as well and be willing to accomodate you - not make special exceptions - just be empathetic to your situation. She clearly does not seem to be.
We just experienced a "bad office staff" after our recent failed IVF. When I called to make the follow-up appointment with the RE to find out what went wrong, I was told we would have to wait almost 3 weeks because they were booked with new client consultations! We ended up getting a consultation a lot sooner, but being told we weren't as important as new business hurt just as bad as the call from the IVF Coordinator with bad news. Good luck to you!
EXACTLY!!! I don't want special treatment, but I demand to be treated like anyone else. If this is how they treat everyone else, count me out.
