Do I risk throwing out all our ferber training for one

more night of co-sleeping. dh is still out of town and I'd love to have the whole bed to just me and dd. Last night it was very lonely with just me in there! But I fear it could reverse all the sleep training we just did......

Re: Do I risk throwing out all our ferber training for one

  • That's not very fair to her to risk having to do it again in a few days.

  • I know how you feel b/c DH is not home a lot either. But what I would do is just grab a sweatshirt of his or something and sleep with it. That is what I had to do when Dh went on his depolyments (military). Maybe that will help. Because I think if you did the co-sleeping and you have come a long way then you would be mad at yourself tomorrow.

    When is DH coming back?

  • Nope, it won't damage what you've done.  I co-slept the other night when thunderstorms came through all night and she went back to her crib the next next night.  Did take a bit longer to get back into the groove.. maybe a couple minutes of crying.. but overall no real problems with losing everything we'd done.

ditto this - we coslept last night because of the storms and he went to sleep just fine tonight. If you start doing every other night, I think that would be bad.
