Augmentin for mastitis?

What antibiotic was prescribed to you if you had mastitis?  I went to an urgent care center and the doctor prescribed Augmentin, stating that the benefits outweigh the risks b/c it will pass through into my breastmilk.

My son has several food allergies so I'm praying that he isn't allergic to penicillin.

Did you have any yeast or thrush issues after antibiotics?  DS is also dairy and soy intolerant so I can't eat yogurt.

    You could take probiotics if you are nervous about thrush, which sucks btw. You can buy them at pretty much any grocery store.

    I just finished a 10-day prescription for Augmentin for a sinus infection.  Probably TMI, but I got a yeast infection from taking it.  DS didn't have any side effects, but he was also taking amoxicillin at the same time.  Our pedi said Augmentin was an L1 drug and that it was the safest one for me to take for my sinus infection.

    there is no penicillin in augmentin, is is just amoxicillin + clavunalate (spelled that one wrong).

    ditto the probiotics/acidophilus capsules.
