teething and congested nose

have any of your babies' experienced having a congested nose as a result of teething?  my best friend said that her baby did, but how can are they related?  my LO has had a congested nose now for 5 days...just congestion, no runny nose, no cough, no sneezing it's weird.  i might take him to the doctor bc im wondering if he has a sinus infection (if babies can even get those)

call your pedi, DS was very congested last week and had a cough.  the pedi said there was nothing they could do.  just to make sure he was eating, and wet diapers.  after a couple days his could went away.  we also use little noses spray and the aspirator

Yes its a common side effect.  I think it has to do with the pressure of the teeth coming down restricts the nostrils or something to that effect.

I heard a little congestion could be from teething but if your lo is really congested I'd call the doc.

I can't  actually explain how they're related but know its a side effect - and DS has unfortunately experienced it...

Kiddo has had a stuffy nose along with teething - it's more of a dry boogie variety than a drippy snot variety though.
