3yr old BD party - which time would you rather go?

My timeslot options for DS's 3rd birthday party are  10 - 12  or  4:45 - 6:45.  Which time would you rather attend a kids party at?  Its on a Saturday.

6:45 would get us home too close to bedtime. I presume he would be a little wound up from the party and the sugar and would have trouble going to sleep. The same could happen earlier in the day, but I'd rather mess up nap time than bedtime.
