Video Monitor ?

Is there a video monitor that you can switch back forth channels on? And if so how does it work? It picks up who is making the sound 1st? I'm confused?

Thanks

Re: Video Monitor ?

  • We use a wireless video security system that we bought at Sam's Club.  It came with 2 cameras that we set up in the kids' rooms.  You just hook it up to the TV in your room, and it comes with a remote that allows you to switch back & forth between cameras.  Our kids are on different floors than us, so I definitely couldn't live without this.  Page me if you want more info - I can find out the brand, model, etc.

ETA: THIS is what we have.

  • I have the Summer Infant Handheld monitor.  It has two channels, A and B.  You can buy an extra camera, and put one camera in one room on channel A, and the 2nd camera in the 2nd room on channel B.  Then with the handheld monitor, switch between channel A and B to view the different rooms.

Obviously, you can only hear the sound from the room that you are viewing.  I'm planning on monitoring baby #2's room.  DD is old enough where when she cries, I can hear without the monitor!  But it's nice to be able to switch the video and see what she is doing.

I also heard that the two cameras may interfere with each other.  I haven't purchased the 2nd camera, so I can't say for sure.

No interference between the cameras.  One camera is on Channel A the other on B and it works great.  Sound is picked up from the channel you are on, not both, but if the room are at all near each other, you will be able to hear both.  Love my monitor!!!!
