another PTing ?

Ok so I have been home all week doing this pting and Tim has been doing great!!  We had a big poopy in the potty on wed....last night he waited until he got his night time diaper on to poop though.  Ok so here is my question....tomorrow I have to take them grocery shopping with me, and Sunday we are going to SIL's which is an hour and a half away.  Should I use pull ups, or just keep him in underwear and hope for the best??

Underwear & hope for the best.  Bring a few changes of clothes just in case.

  • I second underwear and hope for the best.  I've been trying to potty train DD for the last couple months and DD hasn't been truly successful until I did underwear cold turkey (all day long and no pull ups except at night).  She's on day 4 of just underwear (even while we are out and about) and she's had a couple of very minor accidents, but she's so much more aware and understands the whole concept of going on the potty.  Now, she will come and tell me when she has to go instead of me asking her every 30 min.
  • I put a pull-up on DS when we go out.  I'm sure I could put underwear on him, because honestly, he does better at telling me when he has to go potty when we are out versus when we are at home.
  • I say underwear. Even though TJ has been trained for about a year and a half, I still bring a little potty when we go on long (over an hour) car rides just in case. He won't go outside and sometimes a public place isn't always available. And I have an extra pair of clothes and baby wipes in the car juuuuust in case. I hear somewhere that once you put them in underwear not to put them in pullups anymore. I did this at night for lik 6 months but during the day no matter what he was in underwear. I don't know if it really confuses the kids or not, but I figured why chance it!
  • Keep him in underwear. He's doing great!!

I bought a waterproof pad for the carseat that I used for about a day.

  • I tried to go with underwear whenever possible once my kids reached the point where they could hold it enough to wear underwear at home during the day.  I only used pull-ups in situations where an accident would be a MAJOR inconvenience, such as: long car trips to vacation, dressy dinner/holiday outings, places where an accident might have awkward consequences -- like visiting Daddy at work, etc.
