My two grandmothers were named Catherine and Rose. WDYT about Catherine Rose with the nn Cate? We might use Kate though.

I think it sounds pretty. My two cents is that if you go with Kate with a K, go with Katherine. It just doesn't make sense the other way to me. IMO.

Catherine Rose is one of my family names, too! It is my #2 name. And I agree with pp, go with Katherine if you want to use Kate.

Such a pretty name! I actually prefer Cate with a "C". But definitely it you spell Catherine with a C then do Cate and vice versa! GL!

I do agree with the PPs about the C/K spelling -- you should spell the full name and the nickname with the same letter.

I think you're lucky to have two beautiful family names to use! But, if you do want Kate, go with Katherine!

I disagree that you should not spell it Catherine if you intend to call her Cate. Cate Blanchett spells her name that way...not sure if her full name is Catherine but I LOVE Cate.....so cute and makes it a little different from the traditional Kate.

Its on our list that way! GL!
