DS is a popcorn fiend

We were in a store and he grabbed a bag off the shelf.  I figured he would try it and hand it back to me.  I was sooo wrong.  He wouldn't even let me have it to pay for it at the register! 

We're back home and he still hasn't let go of it- he's just sitting on the floor eating it.  He's a popcorn fiend!! 

Can 2 year olds eat popcorn?  Will it get stuck in his throat?  He seems ok- just want to make sure it's ok.

Rylee LOVES it as well she has no prblem eating it just give him some water as well it is salty!!

Katie eats popcorn.  She asks for it daily.  She got some at a friend's birthday party and the next morning was screaming POPCORN at 5:30 am.

If you are worried about safety, Cheetos makes a popcorn like snack with no hulls or kernels. 

We all laughed when our Pedi said "Remember no popcorn b/c she can choke." and Katie started BEGGING "popcorn popcorn Poooooopcoooorn"

My DD loves popcorn, though we rarely have it.

There is a strict no pop corn rule until 5 in my family.  My brother choked and turned blue when he was about 2, possibly early 3 on popcorn.  My  mom and dad had to call 911 and do the heimlich on him. They took him to the hospital then life flighted him to the pediatric hospital.  He was on a vent for 2 days and almost died. He has bad breathing problems, and the doctors say it is from the chocking accident. Luckily he is 27 and still here to annoy the sh!t out of me, like a good brother.

DD loves popcorn, but when I give it to her...I'm like a little mouse and bite all of the big hulls/kernels off and just give her the big puffy parts that she can't choke on.  It's a pain in the butt, but I'm not willing to have her get a kernel stuck on the back of her tongue or something.

I've been too paranoid and nervous to give DS popcorn yet.  Although he HAS tried it once when we went to the movies.  I had to do the ol' switcheroo and give him the Pirate's Booty I snuck into the theater, and he was fine with that.  Of course he loved it...his Mama does too!  I could eat popcorn every day.

No popcorn here either.  I've heard too many stories like these (and worse) to even risk it.  ((hugs)) to punkfiction & mysterious -- thank goodness your family members survived.

Ok- you've all just scared the crap out of me.  No more popcorn for ds.  I watched him like a hawk while he ate the popcorn because terrible things went through my mind of what could happen but I was too nervous the entire time.  There are enough other foods for him to eat in this world.  Maybe I'll try pirate booty if he wants something like popcorn- I never thought of that.  Thanks ladies!
