Mrs.B

Your second job sounds amazing - may I ask how you landed that gig? I would love to do something like that. :)

Re: Mrs.B

  • I was a live-in / live-out nanny for a number of years for "normal" children and babies, and have all been a babysitter.  When classmates were going out in and partying in HS, I was the most wanted babysitter in town.  :)

I have a cousin who has down syndrome and have been a church camp and special needs camp staffer in the past.  I decided that my regular job would be too high stress with the continued travel, so I began researching the need for nannies in my area.  It's not terribly high as the COL here is very low and people just can't afford or don't want to pay for one on one care, but I answered an ad for this situation and really liked the family and they liked me.  We have similar values, which I think is important because as a nanny the only way you will truly love your job is if you are treated as part of the family.  So there you have it.

  • Thanks Mrs B!  If I email you (have it waiting in my drafts box), do you promise to keep my name/email/etc off the boards?
