wrist rattles question

I've seen these in the stores, and it seems like they would just make me angry if I was a LO.  Do babies really like these?

a one month old wont even know where the sound is coming from.. you should wait a while before you get one.. my DS is JUST starting to like his.

DS never liked them.

DD liked them, but she liked the foot rattles more.  She just tries to eat the hand ones and stares at them.  The foot ones will get her kicking like crazy and she tries to grab them.

We just had a set given to us and DS was all smiles when we would shake his hands with them on.
