What color to paint (PIP)

I posted last week about bed spreads, well I decided to use the one we have in the guest room (I LOVE IT).  My gut says that a pretty cream would look nice but a lot of our upstairs in cream.  What other color do you think would look nice with this.

We have a tan color in there now but it just seems to clash with the set.

Re: What color to paint (PIP)

  • I would pull the blue and do my room in that color
  • Loading the player...
  • I hate painting so I would do something that can transition to other decor as well. I think a mocha would be beautiful.
  • I like the blue too, but maybe just one accent wall and the other walls cream.
  • We did our living room a light grayish blue that I think would look nice with that bedding.  It's Martha Stewart's Cake Stand Blue by Valspar at Lowe's.

  • blue but i also think mocha would look pretty as well

  • Definitely the blue. We used a blue for our bedroom, and people absolutely love it, can't stop gushing over it every time they are here! It's Valspar at Lowes, the name was something like summer cottage something...don't remember exactly, but I know those 2 words were in it!
  • Blue would probably be very pretty.

  • Thanks!  Looks like blue it is.  It should work well because all the hardware in the room is silver.

:)  Now to get DH to paint it!  LOL

  • I have made some awful paint choices in the past because I didnt understand warm vs. cold hues in paint.  It's hard to tell from the picture because monitors all make colors different but yours looks to be a cold hue.  If that is the casae, make sure you still with cold tones of blue.  I'm terrible at explaining it but any paint place will show you the cold vs. warm hues in the blues.

    Great tip.
I would take one of the pillow cases to the paint store. Yes, I am one of those! lol

  • Those are the exact same colours in our bedding!  If I had the choice I`d do the blue...  :)

However, our walls are a pale not-quite-taupe--not-quite-grey.  It looks nice.

  • Since the bedskirt is blue, I would also use that.
