I wanted to say that Riley sits up in his sleep too and then cries. I haven't found a trick to get him to completely stop but something that has helped has been making sure when he falls asleep on his tummy that his legs are fully out and not scrunched under him so his butt is in the air. If his butt is in the air it makes it easier for him to sit himself up in his sleep.

I am sorry you are going through this too. Sleep issues SUCK!
