Anyone have a "tongue tied" child or know much about it?

My nephew's dentist today recommended they have the skin under his tongue cut because it could cause speech issues. Thought someone on here might know about this.

    I work in a dentist office and we do it all the time. Its really no big deal. They bleed a good bit but no stitches or anything. We do under the tongue and the upper lip pretty often. Go ahead and do it while he is young. Good Luck
