so i probably should have elaborated.... I wasn't planning on paying off my mortgage, just the rest. second... nobody from second tri did flaming (atleast not before I left.. a few ladies at work went nuts, one saying she has 8k in savings and only 40k debt (plus mortgage) so I should pay minimums and build savings

That woman at work is an idiot.  Unless her interest rates are extremely close to zero, she has very little to show off about. 

I think your financial plan is great.  Very Dave Ramsey-ish.  Can't really argue with his logic.

I think you need to take 'money' off your list of topics do discuss at work.

haha she always has a better plan for everything... unlike my ILs I dont have 0% interest, and medical bills you can't really put off... i figured I have 60% pay for mat leave, and that could get tight if i had every bill still
