Where do I find almond butter?

Granted, I only looked at one store (Publix), but I looked everywhere and couldn't find any.  I guess I should have asked someone that worked there, but I didn't.

Is it usually found near the peanut butter?  Is it a specialty item that I am going to have to go to somewhere like Whole Foods to get?  Or is it more common than that?

  • Our super target has other butters by the peanut butter. Not sure about almond specifically.

    Trader Joe's.

    I don't have a Trader Joe's near me.  :(  Bummer.

  • I'm on an almond butter kick lately. I buy it from a vat of freshly made unsalted crunchy almond butter at my small town version of Whole Foods. I like it better than the jarred because there are very few ingredients yet it has a long shelf life. Not during my pregnancy though. Do you have a fresh market, whole foods, or other natural foods store? You can find it there.
  • Whole Foods would be your best place to look.
  • We have it at our regular grocery stores.  I found it by the peanut butter, but I get it at TJ's.
  • My grocery store (Fry's, but it's also Kroger's or Fred Meyer's in other areas) has a grind-it-yourself peanut butter station where you can grind almond butter, etc. I've always wanted to try it ...
