and started by having DC naked....how long before you could put underwear on and they still told you they have to go??  DS has been doing GREAT being naked waist down....he is peeing and pooping on the potty.  If he has a pull up on though he wont tell us.  Should I expect the same if I put underwear on him....should I wait a little longer??

OK do you have carpet?? I wanted to do it this way too but I cant have her peeing on the rug, how do you prevent that??

p.s. abpdjs can prob help you, I think she did it like taht with her DS

I think if you told him that underwear are special and don't hold pee like a p/u or diaper he'd get it.  If not?  Well, after an accident or two he certainly would! 

Pee on the carpet/furniture is not the end of the world.  It's virtually sterile and easily cleaned with something like Nature's Miracle or Petastic from the pet store.   Just mop up as much as you can with a paper towel/rag...  then squirt some cleaner on it and it's as good as gone.

He did a little tinkle on the carpet once, and on the kitchen floor.  He is SO OCD though that he doesnt want to get it on the carpet.  So that wasn't really an issue for us.  I will try the underwear tomorrow and see how it goes.

We're still in the PT process, but here's what I've learned in the last 3 weeks.

I keep DD in thick underwear during the day (Gerber training underwear) so I can easily check if they're wet, with either a dress or just a T-shirt. She rarely does a full pee in underwear, just a little bit and then tells me her underwear are wet. After that, I take her to the toilet for a full pee.

I only use Pull-Ups if we're leaving the house for a long time, and she's never told me she pees in them. I think they're too diaper-like for her to nice. She only wears them for long outings, naps and bedtime.

You might be surprised at how little your DS has accidents. For the first week of potty training, we stayed outside alllll day and looking back, that was pretty unnecessary given how few full accidents she had.
