40 Week Appointment Update

So, had my 40 week appt this morning and still only 1 cm dilated, but the cervix seems to be thinning now. Not a huge amount of progress, but there was a bit, I guess. My OB practice routinely will not let anyone go past the 41 week mark, so she set an induction date for this Sunday (8/23).

Although I was very much hoping the little one would make an appearance on his own (and still might since we have 4 more days), it is wonderful to think I will meet my son in less than a week!!

The end of this pregnancy has just been pretty miserable. I have nerve damage in my right groin area (an old sports injury) so since the baby has dropped I get intermittant nerve spasms, which are unspeakably painful. And, the fatigue is horrible. I know I am preaching to the choir here, but I am so ready to be done. I also go from zero to biitch in about 10 seconds, so I know my husband is very pleased that we are near the end! Wink
