Kingston and Zion

So my first son is named Kingston and I wanted to have another strong name for my second son. My boyfriend and I were thinking of Zion. What do you think? or give some suggestions.

It's not my style, but I don't think it's  a bad name. I think of the Lauryn Hill song, about her son. Are you religious? I thinbk of this as a religious-sounding name.

We aren't overly religious but enough to know about the meaning of the name. Plus my bf wants to call him Ziggy for short.

NMS.  My first thoughts were of the national park and religion.  Then when you said his NN would be Ziggy, sounds like you're copying Gwen Stefani's Bob Marley inspired baby name.

I really like Zion, and it sounds like it suits your family.  I say go for it!

I immediately think GWEN STEFANI, it's really a very obvious connection even though her second son is named Zuma, it just seems a little copy-cat ish to be totally honest

 I absolutely LOVE the name Zion though, I've loved it since I first heard the Lauren Hill song 

If you don't mind the immediate association to Gwen, then I say go for it

Zion is the name of the College I went to, that being said people I know with Children named Zion tend to be girls.

Zion is ok.  Not really my style.  I knew a family that had a boy named Xion, pronounced the same way.  That's the only one I've heard of in real life.

I've liked it ever since the Lauryn Hill song, too.  My kid would NEVER be cool enough to pull it off though - I think with a name like that your kid has to be the absolute coolest kid you've ever met, or he will be mocked and bullied.  My DH and I are nerds; therefore, our kids must have more normal names...

Yeah it's def a strong name. I really like different names and your son would probably be the only one around...which in my opinion is a great thing. I think Kingston and Zion sound good together. Biblical names are always good, if you're thinking of using a strong name you can always check out the Biblical and Hebrew lists. Good luck!

Zion is NMS.  I immediately think Lauryn Hill & then Gwen Stefani (when combined with Kingston & "Ziggy" as a nickname).  But again, your baby... do what makes you happy.
