I have heard that sometimes midwives recommend enemas to induce labor and that is NOT my goal! I am just insanely constipated. I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and pre-pregnancy, my gastroenterologist told me it was safe to use enemas regularly to help with constipation (which I did). At this point, no amount of fiber or Colace is helping with the constipation.

Re: Can I safely use an enema for constipation at 34 weeks?
Thanks for the feedback. I called my doctor today and he was already gone, but the nurse said NO. The doctor never allows enemas, but recommends Metamucil, Fibercon, etc. and other fiber supplements, She also said that I could use Dulcolax suppositories.
Wish me luck!
