Our agency mentioned we will be scheduling one of two home studies after the health inspection is done. Why two? and how long does it take between the two. We are just ready to get going it seem like one thing after another. No one said this was easy. I thought fertility treatments were overwhelming this is coming pretty close.
Re: Finger printing...check! question about homestudy.
Our homestudy consists of 3 appointments--2 1 to 2 hour visits at the agency office with the SW, and one SW visit to our home. Your agency should have been upfront about the process from the start.
The average is actually three - one to go through the home and talk with you as a couple, one for you and one for your husband to go through questions one-on-one with the caseworker. I think the average amount of time for each is 2-4 hours.
Ours was actually only two as well, each lasting about 1.5 hours. Both were done in our home. The first one she did a tour of our home, talked with us as a couple and then did my husbands one-on-one questioning. The second meeting was a few weeks later and it consisted of her talking to us as a couple again and then she did my one-on-one interview.
I think how soon they are is up to how your case worker works. There isn't any rule about how soon/long it has to take.
