Pregnant after 35

scared, worried......what else is new?

I am going tomorrow to my REs office for a "peace of mind" appt.

I wasn't supposed to go back until 8/25 but my anxiety is through the roof.

I've had some cramps that seem more intense than before and I've had a few bouts of spotting. For some reason today and yesterday at the same time -- 6pm'ish.

I'm so nervous and scared and worried about what's going on in there.

We had perfect sonogram and saw heartbeat last week but I just feel so weird.

Basically just asking for some good thoughts to get me through and for a great heartbeat still going strong!

No one ever told me this would be so difficult!

thanks ladies!?

  • I will be thinking of you and wishing nothing but the best of luck. Sometimes people just spot and they end up being perfectly fine.

    Keep us posted.

  • Said a little prayer for you, I think staying positive is important. It is very hard. I have been stressing a lot and trying very hard to relax. We are close in weeks, I just want to get past 1st tri quickly. I hope all goes perfect tomorrow.

  • Sadly, I know the feeling, good luck tomorrow
  • Praying for you. I hope it all goes well.

  • Pez... deep breath.

A lot of us have gone through what you're experiencing.  A surprising number of us, in fact.   Way more, I think, than what the books will lead you to believe.

Sometimes, right around 7-8w, there's some bleeding and cramping because the baby is digging in to the placenta and getting settled.  Hopefully, that's what you're experiencing.

In my case, it was a full-on period that lasted 10 friggin' days.  Pretty heavy bleeding at times, along with some crampiness... I thought the worst, of course!

Take it super easy the next couple of days.  Stay off your feet as much as possible.  Hopefully your doctor will be able to find the source of what's happening.

    Good luck.

  • I hope everything is just fine with you. It is so hard not to worry constantly during the 1T. I wish I had advice on how not to worry but I never figured that out.

I hope you get good news today.
