Pajamas in the same size or larger than regular clothes?

N needs some new pajamas, but I can't decide if I should go up 1 or 2 sizes.  He wears a 3T in clothes but most of his 4T pajamas are starting to get small.  Just wondering what everyone else does.

  • Hi Sam!!!

I always buy DS 2 sizes bigger, I hate how they make pj's smaller. They say they are supposed to fit snug, but they barely go over his lil' arms! :)

Right now he's just sleeping in cotton shorts and plain white t-shirts...

  • I usually go up a size for 2 reasons -

    1. winter lasts for freaking ever in Michigan and they need to fit a relatively long time

    2. my kids aren't exactly low on the % charts - lots of pjs are practically too tight to start with

  • DD's pajamas are the same size as her clothes.  Actually in the shorts and short sleeve shirts she still fits into some 3Ts from last year.  They stretch and they're supposed to fit snug.  I think most clothes are already made pretty long compared to their size charts, and DD is usually on the low end of the weight range and the high end of the height.

  • I usually size up just one size, but sometimes 2, depending on the brand.
