I haven't posted in awhile but I figured this would be the place for some help with birthday parties!
I'm planning an Abby Cadabby birthday party for DD. She loves Elmo and Abby.
For decor, I'll use pink, purple, and aqua. I was thinking of making tissue pom poms and use fresh flowers for centerpieces. Any other cute, creative ideas?
I'm at a loss as far as goody bags. I have quite a few kids coming ranging from infant to 14. Do I only do goody bags for the little ones? The older ones should be fine with cake, right? I just don't know what age is the cut off.
Also, since Abby is kind of girly, any ideas on boys favors? Should I use Elmo stuff?
Please pass along any ideas! TIA. I think I'm googled out for awhile!
Re: Need Abby Cadabby party ideas!
I would definitely do Elmo for the boys. I did homemade coloring books for Kellen's party and they were a huge hit. I put crayons from Oriental Trading with them and wrapped with ribbon. I can give you details if you want.
I saw an adorable Abby Cadabby outfit on Etsy, here it is:

These are cute for cupcakes...I bet you could easily make them.

We went to a princess party the other day and you could use her goody bag idea. She cut out star shaped rice krispies with sprinkles on them and put a stick in it with ribbons curled around it to make a magic wand. Even though it is kinda girly, DS loved it (he used it more like a sword!)
For DS's party, I gave the little kids goody bags and the older kids (10+) got a mickey mouse cookie and a couple mini candy bars. Even though I think you wouldnt have to do anything for he older kids if you dont want to.

Elmo works for my 2 year old boy!
I made an Abby cake for my friend whose daughter had an Abby Cadabby party. Here is what It turned out like- it was just a round cake with another round cut in half for the hair. Then I used a leaf/hair tip to do the hair. It took a while but the birthday girl was happy.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
We are doing Abby too, and I've just started looking/planning, so I don't have a ton of ideas yet, but I did do a search on ebay & lots of things came up. I've gotten a few ideas from there.
I haven't decided about the boys either, but I'm thinking I may do Elmo for them as well. Just in the favors though, nothing else Elmo.
