I did until about 3 with Ethan. I read on here (after I had already removed them) that 3 is the age where they gain awareness in their sleep to not fall out of bed.
We bought a rail when DS's crib was in the daybed position. It lasted about 2 weeks. He slept in the daybed for so long that by the time he went to a full size bed, he was a pro. I can't remember the last time he fell out of bed.
