Pregnant after 35

New to this Board : )

Hi everyone.  I'm overjoyed to be able to join this board.  Although very cautious still.  We have our u/s this sunday to see/hear the heartbeat.  DH and I are trying not to get to excited just yet.  We had a m/c in December after realizing there was no yolk in the sac.  We jumped that hurdle this past Sunday.  Saying our prayers that this will be the one for us.

? for you, for a few weeks the bloat was just insane, I looked like I was 6 months pregnant, could not even zipper my pants let alone buttoning them, LOL.  Well I noticed this morning that the bloat has gone down considerably.  I know the bloat in the beginning is to be expected but does it go down after a few weeks?

TIA

  • Congratulations!!!!

The bloat came and went in the beginning for me. I wouldn't read anything into it.

  • Hippy! So glad to see you over here. I wish you a H&H 9 months! The bloat went away for me. I wouldn't worry about it. My belly changed so much until I got my bump.

  • Hi and welcome and Congrats!

I'm not good at following all the IVF-type stuff in your siggy.  But if you just transfered embryos a few weeks ago, it may be a little early to detect heartbeats right now.  Just keep that in mind and don't be sad if you don't see anything right away.

And FWIW, I had a blighted ovum a few years back, too.  No one home in the yolk sac.  But in a way, it helped me mentally recover to know that I could get pregnant and that there wasn't really a "baby".. just needed the egg in there!   This time, better results!

  • Welcome and Congratulations!

Not only did my bloat change day to day, it also would change all throughout the day!  And also, the meds you were on could have caused some of it, maybe?

  • Welcome!  My bloat definitely had a mind of it's own and varied a lot in 1st tri.  Congrats on your BFP!!!
  • Cautious congratulations and welcome!  :)

My bloat was all the heck over the place.  Some days I felt like a water balloon, some days I didn't feel pregnant at all.  Try not to worry too much!
