can i brag/share an idea? re: sleeping in the big girl bed

When we transitioned M to a big girl bed we didn't quite have a game plan in place.  She slept with us a lot.  I'm not sure how it happened b/c she rarely did when she was in a crib but we definitely did it to ourselves.  It had gotten to the point of absolute refusal to sleep in her own bed, so I got crafty and made up Operation Ice Cream Cone. 

I used cardstock and printed out an ice cream cone and 5 scoops of ice cream.  For every night she sleeps in her bed, she gets to put a scoop on the cone.  When they are all stacked up, we'll go to DQ and get a cone.  She was so excited and it's easy to talk about.  With her, lots of talking helps.  Anyway, we're on day 2 and scoop 2 and I REALLY hope it works.  I secretly loved having her sleep with us (she'll only be that little for so long) but we really needed to reclaim our bed.

Thats a great idea!  Esp for those who have problems keeping their dc in their own room/bed.  I may try that for naps even though shcool is about to start and they will be napping at school.

I may also use it for good behavior for my 3.  

Im not creative at all so it helps to have such creative nesties!

that's a great idea! We're setting up PAC's toddler bed this weekend since he has refused to sleep in his crib for the past 3 months or so. I really hope it works. I'm like you, I loooove sleeping with him but DH is kinda ready for him to be in his room again. I'm going to try this idea with him.
