pair of black heels to (hopefully) last for a long period of time, which would you choose? Peep toe or closed toe?
They are expensive & I want to be able to wear them for the next 50 years to get my money's worth (okay, 5? 10 yrs?)
I find peep toe to be much more comfortable, so I'm leaning in that direction. But, I definitely don't want them to be dated in a few years.

and there's no way you should e worried about wearing them in 5 years!
Wow, those are HAWT!!
Love the peep toe - only thought... is the red in front "limiting" for what you could wear them with (obviously it's a "signature" part of the shoe, so it's an awesome, beautiful detail - but what happens if you want to wear the shoe with something where the red doesn't coordinate). For the price you'd be paying, it's at least worth considering...
Also, do you ever want to be able to wear hose with them?
Sooo pretty - really can't go wrong with either, and I'd think both are classic styles that should work years from now...
Oops -this is the wrong pic. The one I'm looking at doesn't actually have the red detail. Identical shoe, minus the red detail. I don't wear hose & don't plan to. Tights. . . ? Maybe, I guess.
This.
Also thinking of Seattle weather (having grown up there), you'll probably get more mileage out of the closed toe, simply b/c of the drizzle/damp weather factor from Oct-June
But the peep toe is soo pretty... ok, I'm clearly no help. haa haa
Peeps
They're a timeless classic. Plus, if they're CL's they will last FOREVER.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
Closed toe.
