Um, 8mo just ate Laughing Cow cheese

I am apparently not watching her closely enough and DS must have left in on a kitchen chair and she was crawling on the floor when he was eating dinner and the next thing I knew, she is eating processed cheese.  The "funny" thing is that while I am worried she will wind up with a tummy ache, I am relieved that she found something she will eat b/c she seems to hate a spoon and I am lucky to get 1 ounce in her a day of baby food - maybe an ounce in the morning and some fruit in a mesh feeder in the afternoon.  Today she ate a few puffs without throwing up (although I had to help keep them in her mouth) and laughing cow cheese.  Ok, so now how horrible do you think the cheese is for her at this age?

  • DD is getting all kinds of stuff earlier than DS did. She's not been negatively affected.

You can give them cheese and yogurt at 8-9 months-- they are cultured, not regular milk.

  • Ok, I'm going to be the one that says DD#2 was on almost all table food by 8-month-old.  Embarrassed  She just loved it more than baby food and it was so much easier.  Mostly it was little bits of bread, pasta, and smushy veggies (like from soup or something).  I'm pretty sure she had kraft easy mac around then too.  She's still alive.  Stick out tongue  I'm sure your DD will be fine.
  • She is a horrible eater and gags/throws up easily so this was exciting for me.  I might have to just mash her food and let her dig in.

  • What's so wrong with that?  Kate was eating yogurt and cheese by 8ish months.  She was also almost entirely off purees by that point.  She just wanted table food so everything I used to grind up I'd just leave in pieces on her tray.  It was so much easier and less messy than baby food!
