Metformin users...a ?

This is my 2nd full cycle on metformin, and I seems like it's actually making my cycles worse!  Last cycle, I ovulated on day 22 (before I started taking the meds, I would ovulate between day 16-19).  This cycle, I have yet to ovulate and it's already day 23!  My luteal phase has pretty much stayed the same (9 days).  Did anyone have a similar experience?  I know it can take a few cycles for metformin to be effective, but is it normal for things to get worse before they get better?

    I haven't tried to get PG while in Met yet since I just got the go-ahead just now from my OB. I hope things do get better for you though.

    I am a late O'er to begin with but mine has never been that late.  I will say that over time your cycle does change.  I used to not O until day 18 now I am up to day 16.  I hope that helps and that your cycle evens out soon.  I think I read it can take around 3 months for things to level out.

    Started it PP, so have no insight on cycles, but my doc said it takes 6 months for it to take full effect. I'm taking it more to regulate glucose, but I would imagine that the affect on cycles would also not be immediate.

    Basically, I'm agreeing with Greekwife- hang in there!
