Flintstone Vitamins

Has anyone taken these in place of PNV? My sis has a hard time swallowing large pills and the chewable PNV made her gag. Her doctor said she should take two flintstone's and two tums per day and that should do the trick... Has anyone else heard of this?

 TIA!

Re: Flintstone Vitamins

  • When my SIL was pregnant she took children's vitamins in place of PNV.  Don't know how many she took but I think it is common.

  • I had the same problem and take 2 Flintstones per day.

  • Two Flintstones and a tiny folic acid supplement here.  (The extra folic acid was because my RE thought I should have extra because of the whole twin thing.)

That's what I take. Why are you guys taking two though? I read the nutrition facts and they had about the same percentages as the PNVs. Just curious.

I'm curious to hear this answer as well.  I've been only taking one......

  • I take one and a half plus a tiny folic acid supplement (smaller than a BCP). I am doing it this way because it matches up with the mg's my ob/gyn recommended for vitamins + folic acid.

  • Yup, that's what I take. Well I take the Flintstones complete and I think it has more folic acid in it.

  • I take two flinstones and a folic acid.  The flinstones only have about 200mg of FA and 400mn is the minimun you should be having which is why I take the supplement.  The flinstones label recommends two chewies for anyone 4 and up.

Target does have some adult gummie vitamins though that contain more vitamins than the flinstones and I think when I am done with this bottle I will switch.

Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

The ones I have say that a serving is 2 gummies.

ETA: (I take Gummy Flintstones.  I assume the non-gummies are the same. hehe)
