Babies on the Brain

AH!

For the past few days Allie has started hiding things.  Saturday she hid my wedding band.  Today my phone.  I am going to go nuts. Any ideas on how to get her to stop?

Re: AH!

  • Maybe give her a super special pretty box to keep her treasures in, in the hopes that she will put all of your stuff in there?

Sorry, this is really cute but I can see how it would be annoying... especially with stuff as important as that!

  • Loading the player...
  • That may work hippo...until she hides the box too.

    Great idea!

It wasn't cute on Sat.  She told me she ate my wedding band.  I was in a frantic search for them.  I found them in her wipe container after she told me "My wipes, my ring."  Today she came running telling me to "Find phone Mommy."

Lol.  My child would totally do that.

Always thinking one step ahead, aren't you?  ;)

  • LOL, only b/c I have a feeling that this would totally happen to me!
  • You could try getting a special small set of toys that are for hiding.  Maybe if she has something that you let her hide, she won't want to hide your things?
  • Designate a special item that she gets to hide each day, your job being to find it.  (Not sure how old she is 2-3?) Talk up getting to hide this item, and what great fun it will be, but that she can only hide that item, nothing else.

edit-gah, I always post to slowly

  • can you "reward" her for finding your things?

or is that defeating the purpose....?

  • My cousin used to do this with our chess pieces.  They would be all over the house, so anytime we wanted to play we had to do a scavenger hunt first.
