Is daycare quick to send LO home?

I feel like ours is very lenient about when she can come.  Like we can have her there for any fever below 101, and they didn't seem concerned at all that I have pink eye (granted DD isn't showing any symptoms).  I don't know-- just seems like they're much more willing to keep DD there than I was expecting.

  • it seems like they're pretty lenient too.  When she had pink eye (which is something she caught there anyway), her eye was all funky and they never called to tell me to come get her, and let me bring her back the next morning after she'd had a couple doses of eyedrops.

Honestly, it's a relief that they don't send her home since most of her illnesses stem from being exposed THERE.  That said, she's only had the pink eye and the sniffles for a few days (which was fine for her but now I've caught it and I feel like death).

  • ours is the same way. DD has had pink eye a few times, ringworm, and has had fevers i don't know how many times. She stays there...i feel bad for her though, I wish I co uld stay home with her when she's sick.
  • Very quick.   One teacher kept taking her temp throughout the day and wrote it on the sheet.   After the nap, her ear temp went over 99.9 so they sent her home.    Then another time they took her temp and called me from work, I took her straight to the dr and the dr said she did not have a temp.  Daycare received a note from my dr.

I also know when they have been taking her temp now b/c she like to mimic things and sticks a plastic celery in my ear pretending like she is taking my temp.   She goes and checks both ears.   This varies on the days when she decides to do this...

LOL-- that's too cute!  but sorry they send her home so much!

I agree-- i wish i could be home with her too, but like meg said it is nice that i don't have to take off when she picks something up there!
