Success after IF

Assuming this is normal, but reassurance would help

I have been feeling blah and achey the past few days in my stomach. Almost like I just finished doing 100 crunches. Normal? I have a doctors appointment next week, should I call sooner?
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • It never hurts to call.  You're probably just doing some stretching.  I remember having some pain to the touch around my belly button, it turned out to be nothing.  A lot of people tend to start to really show around this point, maybe you're about to pop :)
After THREE years, our IVF miracle is here!!!

  • Thanks. I am way past showing, I was an early popper. My belly button is about to pop though =)

  • I just got back from the OB and mentioned the exact same issue to her. She said it's totally normal, that things are still stretching, and as long as it isn't excruciatingly painful it's fine. FWIW, my belly hurts to the touch sometimes and my belly button, which popped awhile ago, still hurts from time to time.

  • My abs also are sore sometimes- especially if I accidentally roll the wrong way in my sleep.  It wakes me up and my abs are so sore- just like I did a ton of crunches.  It's really weird and I am planning on mentioning it at my next appointment. Do you mind posting again if you end up talking to your doc and letting us know what they say?
  • Carly I will post after my appointment monday.

  • I have achy pain too, but I usually will notice it for a few days, then wake up bigger one morning, then a week or so will pass, and it will happen all over again!

I am sure everything is just fine!

  • I would probably call for peace of mind. My OB did say that between now and 26w is a HUGE growth spurt for the baby, so as pp have said, probably stretching, but I would still call bc I am a nut ;)
