i think it also depends on the conditions of deprived sleep. if it's something like you're lying in bed tossing and turning under the covers, that may make your temp go up. but if it's deprived as in, you only slept well for 2 hours instead of three, it could lower your temp.
DD woke up to pee last night at 2:30. I got up with her, then was back in bed by 3. Could NOT fall back asleep till 4ish, and got up for work at 6. My temp was nice and high--which is what I want to see right now!--but not sure if that's accurate or even worth getting my hopes up and putting it in my chart.
I had the same thing this morning. I had to go to the bathroom around 4am and I temp at 5:30. I fell back to sleep and I had a temp drop. So then I started thinking well....if it interrupted sleep makes your temp higher than how low would it have been? I'm currently trying to convince myself to stop temping until next cycle.

yeah, this kind of thing happens to me often, since i have to wake up at 4:30am to temp-- so if i wake up anytime after 1 to use the bathroom, it throws off my temp. since i consider myself my own personal science experiment, i test how sleep deprivation effects my sleep by temping a) before i get up to use the bathroom (even if it's at 1am-- as long as i had 3 hours of sleep), and then b) at 4:30am. this happened to me this morning, actually. at 1am, my temp was 97.83. i fell back asleep around 2, and at 430 my temp was 97.76. in my opinion, not a very significant different. i kept the 4:30 time on my chart and made a note.

LOL. So you'd say that interrupted sleep makes your temp lower than what it would normally be? If that's the case, I'm hoping that's true for me, cuz a "low" of 98.2 would be fantastic! Thanks for accommodating my neurotic state.
I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think TCOYF says temps should be discarded if you don't get at least three straight hours without waking (getting out of bed).
Re: What does interrupted sleep/sleep deprived do to BBT?
in my experience-- either!

and i would reckon it also depends on the person.
Well, that's not helpful!
