Anyone know approx. cost of hcg tests?

in 1st Trimester

I have had 5 rounds of this b/w done and haven't received a bill yet. I have the option of doing another 48 hr f/u hcg today and we are debating if we should and my cnm left it up to us. If anyone has an old bill laying around I would love to know ballpark what to expect.

    It depends on your insurance and your dr's office.  If they run the lab work in the office you may just have to pay the copay.  If they send it to a different lab then you will have to pay according to how your insurance handles labwork.  My drs office sends it to another facility and I pay $5 per tube of blood.

    I realize it could vary widely. We go to a cnm located in the medical bldg. of the hospital so she just has me use the lab there. I had no idea if it was $20 or $200 (or more!)... Just looking to see what others have been charged so I can get some idea.

    The charge submitted to my insurance for mine was $21. I also had three other things checked that day that are included in that, so I'd guess that just HCG is less than that.

    My ins covers it 100%, but our itemized bill says they are $27 each draw, plus $6 per tube.

    Double check w your ins. They may cover it.

    If you have health insurance call the number on the back of the card and they will tell you what is covered and how much it is. I am billed 10% for each bw that I get which depending on the test runs me 7-50 for each bw that I get. Some are covered 100%. Just call your insurance.

    We have not hit our deductible yet so we basically are paying out of pocket.  My hcg test cost 120 dollars.  I think I had one other test with that though.
