my life is a blur right now but I did manage a small update in my blog if anyone is interested! I hope everyone is doing well!! Sorry I have not been on too much lately but we are so close to Bmom delivering, she is having intermittent contractions and has already gone to the hospital once already! We live 20 hours away and will most likely need to fly ASAP as soon as she goes into labor.We were hoping to schedule and induction so we can be there for her but that may not happen now.

Does anyone have any experiance with getting an affordable flight at the last minute? We looked into fully refundable tickets and they are like, 5 times more expensive than a flight booked a week in advance! Any insite or info would help! Thanks!!!

Tiffany - I'm so glad that your visit went well!  That's great that you got to meet the birthmother and her grandparents.

As far as plane tickets go, we use travelocity for last minute tickets.  There's a button on their site that is for last minute vacation packages - I think you can include a hotel/car.  You might want to try cheaptickets, too. 

I've never done the fully refundable tix - I would guess like you said that they are really pricey.

Not sure where you are flying to and from but we used Southwest for that reason. We probably changed our flights a gazillion times without any change fees.?
