Hi, So I am wondering if any one else had their HCG levels done 3 times in a week, when you are only 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant??? My levels are low and the nurse has asked me to repeat them to make sure they are going up-they have -but are still low, they are in the range. Is this normal? Seems like I am way to early for my levels to be taken . I was only asking for a blood test to be sure I was pregnant.
I think normally you are just finding out you are even pregnant at this week.
I have no spotting or any other health complications.
Thank you for helping me out, it is nice to have a group of ladies to ask questions too!
Enjoy your weekend!
Re: Any body else???
I did the first time. Since I was charting, I ended up at the office at 4wks and of course hcg was low then (like 151 or something).
This time they planned on doing that, since the first was 101, but the second at 17dpo came back at 1,097, so they nixed the 3rd test and ran with an internal u/s to do a "head count". No worries - only one! Just one who means to stay!
Hi, Normally HCG levels are taken and re-taken when you first find out you are pregnant. By checking on how fast they increase, they can tell how viable the pregnancy is. WHat they're looking for is not so much the absolute amounts as the rate at which they increase. You might find this website helpful:

congrats!
Hi, thanks for responding to my post! I think I may have some reason to be concerned. My numbers are not going up to fast. I have the first test done on Monday it was a 38, Wednesday it was a 59, Had the test done again today but I have to wait until Monday for those results....stinks! Most of my friends did not have a blood test done until they were 6 weeks, so I assumed that is why my numbers were low since I am at 4weeks.
Congrats to you!
Can't recall if I was even told my numbers or not... but right after the first bloodtest I was put on a synthetic progesterone because I'd had a previous miscarriage. A few days later, more bloodwork showed my levels were doubling every day and the doc said that was what they wanted to see.
So, I'd think that since they did NOT put you on any meds like that yet, that your levels are doing okay. But that's just a guess on my part.

Thanks Ladies, I am soo wishing my nurse never said I could have a blood test...causing lots of anxiety! I am going to believe the baby is fine.THis is my first time being pregnant and if they want more blood work done I think I am going to tell them I am waiting until 6 weeks or so. I guess this is the beginning of many worries....nurse had kinda taken away some of my happiness of finding out I was pregnant.
Good luck to you all.
