Toddlers: 24 Months+

Need ideas quick...

So DH and I decided to have our 1st family movie night tonight. We had thought about taking DS to the movies but I thought we would do a trail run at home 1st. I am about to head to the store to pick up some things and I wanted to get some "special" snacks for DS for movie night. Any ideas? For what it's worth I am not too worried about them being "healthy". This is a special night and I want DS to really enjoy it. I don't want him getting a belly ache but YKWIM. I know I need to get some popcorn but what else?

I am probably getting all excited for nothing and he will probably only sit still for 5 mins but I am going to give it my best shot and hope that he loves it and has a good time!

  • I find that sometimes a theatre is easier than sitting at home. They tend to be in awe of the theatre and it's surroundings. Just a thought.

How about a toddler trail mix of sorts. dried cranberries, m&ms or chocolate chips, and whatever nut your child likes. Jack loves almonds.

Those jelly fruit snacks. I buy Jack the Amy's organic once in a great while. According to my dentist, they are the single worse thing you can feed your child because they sort of stick to the teeth and cause damage. I've only bought two boxes of them. Once for pting and a box yesterday. I don't pretend they are a healthy snack. I call them candy to Jack.

  • Lolipops, fruit snacks, licorice...

Hmmm.. I might steal your idea!! : )

  • LOVE the trail mix idea! YOu can put goldfish in there too. I'm sooooooo stealing your idea.

  • Mine loves popcorn! Also those fruit snacks too. You can also do skittles I know it sounds bad and a choking hazard but just squish them before you give them to him to eat, I only gave her 1 at a time. Oh and she really likes Swedish Fish too. You'd be surprised my dd sat and watched Wall-E/Kung Fu Panda (all at home)  from beginning to end. She was so fascinated that we ended up watching that movie for almost 2 months straight!
