Stroller Dilemma...need advice

At this point, I can?t decide which would be the best choice:

  1. Buying two infant car seats along with the snap-in stroller frame, which would mean I would need to buy another tandem stroller in a year or so.
  2. Buying a double stroller, equipped with infant car seat snap-in accommodations (one in front of the other), which would essentially work forever because once we?re out of the infant car seats, the ?big girl seats? are underneath.

The downside with choice A is that I have to invest in two different strollers, kind of. But choice B stinks because I don?t really like the idea of them sitting one in front of the other (at the zoo, for example). Just seems like the child in back gets the crappy view!

HELP! What are your experiences?

  • Choice 1. For sure. Have you joined a local MoMs club? Ask if anyone is selling one soon. Or check Craigslist or consignment stores.

The snap n' go is like metal and plastic - totally practical to buy used and you can usually find it for $40 or less.
  • get the snap n go.  By the time they are out of that you will have a better idea of what you want.  Buying now you'll just regret it and spending more $$'s later.

I bought a side by side (before they were born) and haven't used it yet but I have serious stroller envy at my multiples group.  I wish I would've waited until I saw what was out there instead of what crappy BRU had in the aisle.

  • The kolcraft has a set up very similar to the DSNG.  You just put the frames in for the carseats and when they are past the infant carseats, you then put on the stroller seats. You can configure the setup different ways.  I have the girls looking at each other.

You should be able to find a DSNG used on craigslist or through yoour local MoMs club.

  • DSNG's on my CL go for around $50-$60.  I found one at OUAC for $50 and had a 20% off coupon (spend $200 and get 20% off your purchase) so I got it for $40.  When I'm done with it, I'll get to sell it for at least what I paid, so it's like I get to use it for free.  Don't buy one new, let someone else spend their money and you find it used.  GL.
  • Thank you guys!! I registered yesterday and it was hellish rather than happy. I just couldnt decide on a damn thing, lol. I'll def. go with a used DSNG to start!
  • GET THE DSNG.  Sorry to be obnoxious with all caps, but i can't stress enough how much easier this made my life in the first few months.  They have only just outgrown it in the last 2 weeks or so (okay, maybe before that, but I wasn't ready to give it up yet)  And it just makes the whole process of getting out of the house less overwhelming.  It's lighter and easier to set up than most regular tandem strollers and so worth the hundred bucks (new) or cheaper if you get it on craigslist or at your local MoMs yard sale!

Ditto this! We got ours brand-new on Amazon for $60 and since it's still in great shape, I plan to sell it for $40. ;) And as another poster pointed out, once your twins are out of the DSNG you'll have a better idea of what stroller you want next. I've discovered I MUCH prefer an SBS so I now have a City Mini Double and we love it.

  • This is just a thought, but have you looked into the Runabout Strollers? I don't have one yet, but am planning on getting the triple. It holds babies from newborn until about 55 lbs. And the seats are slightly inclined so the baby in the back can still see everything. It is also supposed to be very easy to push, and lightweight to travel with. Just something else to consider :)

  • We did option 2.  I have the Graco Duo Glider and like it.  Although we do have a second stroller, a jogging stroller, the Valco Tri Mode Twin that I LOVE!  We just got that, because I felt like I was wearing out my Graco on my daily walks in the neighborhood, and I want the Graco for shopping and such for years to come!
  • We went with option 2.  We have the Kolcraft tandem and I cannot say enough good things about it.  You can configure the seats in different ways, and there is plenty of room for each child to see what's going on.  It comes with one carseat attachment, and we bought a second one for $25.  It's very easy to fold/unfold.  Although it's heavier than the DSNG, it will save you money.  My boys are 2 months old, and I've never had any problems getting the stroller in/out of the car by myself.
