My husband's great grandmother's name was Millie and I believe it was short for Mildred. Not much better in my opinion. You could probably get away with using Millie as a nickname for Emily or Amelia.
I agree with this. Some names that are typically nn are just way better as the full first name. I have three friends (all sisters) and they are
Elizabeth = Liza
Amelia = Leah
Roberta = Bo
Not a one ever goes by their full name and have even considered changing it legally. Just a thought. I think Millie/Milly is really cute all on it's own.?
Re: Is Millie only even short for Millicent? Other long forms?
what about Camille or Camilla?
Elizabeth 5yrs old Jane 3yrs old
