Could this be my water?

Forgive the newbie question, I suppose I should know this since I have been in labor before....but when my water broke with Brady it was a pretty big leak and I knew it was my water, there was no question.

I have been having irregular contractions (that are medium painful I would say) since yesterday around 4. But I only get 1-2 an hour and they havent picked up at all. But since this morning whenever I get one I feel something (TMI warning) leaking out. But it is only when I get a contraction, there is nothing any other time. Does this sound like it could be my water? Or probably just discharge? Guess the only way I would know is to call the OB, huh?

Can you try using the bathroom to pee, and see what happens? I had a tiny little leak and decided to go to the bathroom and check, and when I sat down I must have broken the bag of water and it just gushed and gushed and gushed. Also, maybe you could smell it. My OB also told me that you wouldn't be able to "hold it in", like you could pee. GL!!!!

I have no experience..my water never broke but I like PP suggestions.

It could be! I was told if I was wondering if it was my water to lie down for a few minutes and if you feel more come out when you get up it was more than likely your water. I know that you said you don't feel it except during contractions so I don't know if the laying down thing would work but you never know!! GOOD LUCK!!!

probably. I know with DS I'd always get little 'gushes' during each contraction.

I had so much weird discharge at the end it's hard to tell.  Either way, this could be it!!! Good luck!

I went and took a shower and now it seems to have stopped. I dont think this is it just yet.

You are close so it could be but it is hard to say. I had the big gush so I am not familiar with a small leak. I agree about smelling it. You could also go jump on a trampoline. That is what my cousin did at 39 weeks to try and bring on labor!!!
