Two Under 2

the coworker who just wont give up...

I dont know if any of you remember but a few weeks ago i posted about how my one coworker keeps telling me that im not ready for #2 (she doesnt know im currently pregnant).  she goes on to tell me I don't want to be chasing #1 around while carrying #2 in my arms.  says id be crazy to have #2 so soon, etc etc.

well yesterday she says "i hope he [a male coworker] doesn't think you should be having your second baby already.  At least wait until the first one walks".

She has said stuff like this in the past and I told her flat out that we want to have our kids close in age.  Its like she's trrying to convince me not to.

this is all coming from a child-less single chick who is 36 (so IMO should know better than to pass her opinions onto other people as boldly as she does).  Its time like those when i just want to tell her Im pregnant again, and that we planned it.

(this is the same lady who, to my face, bashed young people for getting married, knowing I was young when I got married.  she has no couth)

 some people just boggle me

Re: the coworker who just wont give up...

  • I work with one of those women too..

She told me a story about how an epidural worked in the wrong direction and killed a family friend when I was 38 weeks pregnant.

She told me "us" new mom's do not know how to allot money that is why we need to work (this woman is in her 60's times have changed and so has the economy, I work in a small Catholic High School and their are about 10 young teachers who have kids under 4).

Honestly I ignore her.  I did flip out when she said the thing about money (and may have told every other mothers of a young child) because my finances are none of her freaking bussiness.

Some people just need to keep their mouths closed!

  • Some people are crazy.  My MIL made some comment about how she wonders how I will do it.  Ummm, ok thanks for the support.  I just ignore people like that.  Sometimes people act like that because they want what you have/are jealous or they honestly can't be happy for others.  Who knows.

  • OMG So been through this.. My DH and i got married 3 months after our 1 year anniversary together and baby was born 3 months after we got married... and it wasnt a SHOT GUN wedding.. however this one women wouldnt shut up about how i was only getting married cause i got knocked up!?!  I was in shock being we planned on getting married prior to baby and we just moved up the date so we would be married prior to her birth.. and then she said can you even afford to take care of a baby? OMG i nearly flipped! None of any of it was her business and a simple congrats would have been nice if she had to say anything at all.. But what ever happened to the golden rule.. "IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY THEN DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL"

Then DH's family practically has so many condescending compliments to make.. you know the insults that are made to almost sound nice! Grr not his immediate fam... some of the others... But i believe its partly cause they have the worst social skills i have ever seen.. they really only know how to socialize with each other lol!

I love this!!!!  It seems like a lot of oh wow they are going to be close in age comes from people who don't have ANY kids.  It amazes me that what people will say.
